Treyarch, the company behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 4: Blackout, has rather subtly revealed the upcoming changes for their new limited time mode. The change was apparently unannounced and is speculated to be leaked by many through the Call of Duty Companion app. This little change was first spotted by Redditor carkeys11 who posted the same to Reddit.

The new mode is apparently called Ambush and plans to give the users their chocie of Sniper Rifles and Melee Weapons, essentially making the Skulker and Dead Silence perks much more useful in these modes of the game. Furthermore, the new ambush mode also features a circle which keeps on collapsing continuously and never stopping. This change will not only make the Outlander perks favourable as well, but it will also cause massive transitions in playing styles, drop locations, and common gameplay strategies.

Treyarch confirmed Ambush to their limited time mode by replying to the post made by carkeys11 on Reddit. They said, “It’s true, Ambush is coming soon in Blackout as our next limited-time mode in Blackout –- just not quite yet! Down But Not Out will be live for a couple of weeks on each platform, which started on PS4 earlier this week. We’re planning to launch Ambush into the wild immediately afterward, so enjoy the insanity of DBNO while it’s live and let us know what you think of the redeploy system while we put the finishing touches on what’s to come.”

The world of Black Ops 4 Blackout’s Limited Time mode has been constantly growing to catch up with the recent viral trends of players opting for the Last Man Standing or Battle Royale mode of gameplay which emphasises on one player being the last to live. Ambush is the latest development in their game. While players continue to enjoy the Down But Not Out mode, Treyarch plans on releasing newer and newer modes into the fray, the next one being Ambush. However, the exact date of the release of Ambush yet remains unknown.

With that, the trial version of Blackout is already quite popular among gamers and the limited time mode Down But Not Out is set to hit the PC later this week. Hopefully, that will help us gain some clarity as to exactly when Ambush is set to hit the game.
