Resident Evil 2 Remake giving away three free DLCs after 3 mn copies sold

January 31, 2019January 29, 2019 by Jeff Lampkin
With all the hype behind the Remake of the old Resident Evil title, Resident Evil two, it's no surprise that the game topped the charts for sales with three million units sold in the first week of its release as disclosed by Capcom. After all, fans have been constantly asking for this remake for quite a long time since now. Capcom certainly knew that it was bound to be successful since they started developing the game. All in all the Resident Evil Franchise has been one of the most successful franchises for the game developers, nearing 85 million units sold in total. The latest game in the franchise already beat the record for the first week set by Resident Evil 7 and is set to go further and break the record for Resident Evil 7 as well, seeing how the former has already sold half the amount sold by the latter. In contrast, the 1998 Resident Evil only reached 4.96 million units in sales throughout its lifetime. This came as no surprise, however, as the remake was downloaded more than 4.7 million times as per RE NET, the site dedicated to tracking the complete anonymous statistics of the Resident Evil 2 Remake game for the players who opt-in on it. "RESIDENT EVIL 2 IS NOT ONLY A STELLAR REMAKE OF THE ORIGINAL, BUT IT'S ALSO SIMPLY A STRONG HORROR GAME THAT DELIVERS ANXIETY-INDUCING AND GROTESQUE SITUATIONS, TOPPING SOME OF THE SERIES' FINEST ENTRIES," WROTE CRITIC ALESSANDRO FILLARI. "BUT ABOVE ALL, THE REMAKE IS AN IMPRESSIVE GAME FOR THE FACT THAT IT GOES ALL-IN ON THE PURE SURVIVAL HORROR EXPERIENCE, CONFIDENTLY EMBRACING ITS HORRIFYING TONE AND RARELY LETTING UP UNTIL THE STORY'S CONCLUSION." Looking beyond the newfound, but expected success of the game, the developers are releasing three free-to-play DLCs in the game which give players three new stories to play. These DLCs contain the stories of three people who never made it out of Raccoon City alive. No time to Mourn explores the tale of The Gun Shop Owner, Runaway explores what happened to the Mayor's Daughter, while Forgotten Soldier entails the heroics of a soldier who got left behind in Raccoon city during the T Virus outbreak. Resident Evil seems to be getting its fair share of success and everyone can rest assured that they deserve it. The developers are more than happy to keep their customers engaged and satisfied with a new story after a new story in the gripping, horrifying remake of the 1998 classic, Resident Evil 2.

With all the hype behind the Remake of the old Resident Evil title, Resident Evil two, it’s no surprise that the game topped the charts for sales with three million …
